Remember the film, American Beauty? It was directed by Sam Mendes (Kate Winslet’s husband), and it starred Kevin Spacey, Annette Benning, and Mena Suvari, as the blonde teenage beauty. Kevin Spacey was going through a mid-life crisis, married to the uptight Benning, and Suvari was a friend of his high school-aged daughter, and Spacey fell in love (or was it lust?) with Suvari’s character.
The most famous scene from the movie was when Spacey was fantasizing about Suvari and she was lying on a white sheeted bed and red rose petals were falling all around her.
